LSPC

Overview

The LSPC training programme has been implemented under administrative guidance of Line Director MNCA&H, DGHS and Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) in collaboration with OGSB and technical support from UNFPA. 
This is two days’ duration of day long training programme. A total of eight master trainers required to conduct this training. A course director monitors and supervises the trainers to ensure the quality of the training. A lecture room and four breakout stations were included to conduct this hand on skill training. A total of 32 participants can received this training from one batch. Pre-course evaluation and post-course evaluation include both knowledge test and skill test were performed to access the changes. 
The course content include airway, breathing, and circulation (ABCs) & Maternal Resuscitation, Haemorrhage, Postpartum haemorrhage, demonstration of Normal Labour, Active Management of 3rd Stage of Labour, Delivery room management of NB, Pre-Eclampsia & Eclampsia, PPH management, Managing Obstructed Labour, Retained Placenta, sepsis management and Post-partum family planning (PPFP). This course trained 26 participants (consultants, doctors, nurses and midwives) from national level and selected 10 districts on Life Saving Skills in Pregnancy and Childbirth (LSPC). This programme will be helpful for the participants to improve the capacity of health care providers (HCPs) of emergency room and maternity wards within district hospitals, upazila health complexes and selected urban health facilities for providing 24/7 BEmONC in order to reduce maternal mortality in Bangladesh.
