Intervention Supervisor

🌍 Background

In Bangladesh, drowning is the leading cause of deaths in children over the age of one. Globally, the country has one of the highest rates of drowning, especially among newly mobile children. The risk is higher in rural areas due to ponds, ditches, and other water bodies.

The “Sonamoni Project” aims to reduce drowning deaths among children under two, coordinated by Bournemouth University with partners including CIPRB and RNLI, funded by NIHR using UK aid.

The project will work in Patuakhali and Sherpur using human-centered design to develop and test interventions.

👤 The Role

CIPRB is seeking Intervention Supervisors to support implementation, monitoring, and documentation of drowning prevention interventions for children under two, ensuring coordination with stakeholders.

🎓 Educational Requirements

  1. Bachelor degree from a reputed educational institution

📝 Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and submit monthly work plans.
  2. Manage logistical needs for drowning prevention activities.
  3. Organize training for caregivers and staff.
  4. Coordinate project implementation and distribute interventions.
  5. Supervise households and childcare centers.
  6. Observe caregiving environments and safety measures.
  7. Identify safety gaps and ensure corrective actions.
  8. Conduct awareness visits and sessions.
  9. Identify environmental hazards and inform stakeholders.
  10. Collect and compile reports and ensure KOBO data entry.
  11. Submit monitoring reports and maintain documentation.
  12. Document case studies and best practices.
  13. Monitor caregiver and volunteer performance.
  14. Replace inactive staff when needed.
  15. Maintain communication with community stakeholders.
  16. Facilitate awareness programs and sessions.
  17. Verify First Responder reports.
  18. Document incidents and follow-up actions.
  19. Perform additional duties as assigned.

💼 Required Skills & Experience

  1. Minimum 2 years experience in relevant field work.
  2. Strong project management and monitoring skills.
  3. Training and facilitation experience.
  4. Report writing and documentation skills.
  5. Coordination with government and NGOs.
  6. Problem-solving and analytical ability.
  7. Computer skills including MS Office and KOBO.
  8. Strong communication in English and Bangla.

  1. Ability to work across different project levels.
  2. Strong teamwork and facilitation skills.
  3. High ethical standards and professionalism.
  4. Experience in NGOs is an advantage.
  5. Understanding of safeguarding principles.
  6. Willingness to travel to rural areas.

💰 Salary & Benefits

  1. 30,613 BDT/month
  2. Travel allowance: 5,000 BDT/month
  3. Training allowance: 1,000 BDT/day
  4. Mobile bill: 700 BDT/month
  5. Salary negotiable
  6. Other benefits as per policy
