Position: Communication Manager
Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB)

CIPRB is one of the leading public health research organizations in Bangladesh, committed to injury prevention, health promotion, and community development. We invite applications from qualified candidates for the position of Communication Manager to support communication for injury prevention and drowning prevention programmes in collaboration with RNLI (UK).
Key Responsibilities
The Communication Manager will report to the Project Director and collaborate with the senior management team to lead all communication strategies and deliverables. Responsibilities include:
Strategic Communication & Coordination
- Ensure all communication activities align with the organizational and project-specific communication strategies and are in compliance with CIPRB and donor guidelines.
- Design and implement communication plans for visibility, outreach, and advocacy.
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop, review, and disseminate communication materials and updates.
Content Development & Media Engagement
- Develop key promotional messages, newsletters, and storytelling content in collaboration with the project team.
- Draft, edit, and finalize reports, brochures, IEC materials, and advocacy documents.
- Write case studies, press releases, and feature articles for the newspaper to showcase project progress, success stories, and lessons learned.
- Coordinate with media and creative agencies/vendors for material production and dissemination.
Digital and Social Media Management
- Maintain and regularly update the organization’s website and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X).
- Monitor digital performance and audience engagement metrics to refine content strategies.
- Provide technical support for online campaigns and events.
Events, Campaigns, and Public Relations
- Organize and participate in awareness campaigns, community events, trainings, workshops, and press briefings.
- Build and maintain relationships with media personnel, government representatives, and development partners.
- Represent the organization at national and international forums when needed.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Innovation
- Ensure quality control of all communication outputs.
- Conduct media monitoring and analysis of public perception.
- Explore and implement innovative approaches for communication and visibility, including multimedia content.
Employment Details
- Type: Contractual
- Duration: Initially for 1 year with a 3-month probationary period. Contract renewal is subject to performance and funding availability.
- Salary: Attractive and negotiable based on experience, as per the organization’s HR policy.
Educational and Professional Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or Social Sciences from a recognized university.
- Minimum 5-6 years of progressive experience in communication roles, preferably in development or public health-related programs.
- Proven skills in content creation, editing, and publication across print, digital, and multimedia platforms.
- Hands-on experience with social media management and website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla).
- Prior experience working with INGOs, development agencies, and government counterparts is highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in both Bengali and English (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with communication, media production, and dissemination methods.
- High level of creativity, innovation, and initiative.
- Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical standards and safeguarding principles.
