Since CIPRB’s inception it had been conducting injury surveillance from 2005 to 2010 in five (05) unions namely Dhubil, Ghurka, Brammagachha, Chandaikona and Dhangara at Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district covering 43,729 households under Prevention of Child Injuries through Social-intervention and Education (PRECISE) project.
Later injury surveillance has been continuing with the support of the International Drowning Research Centre-Bangladesh (IDRC-B) from August 2010. Five (05) data collectors and one (01) supervisor conduct injury surveillance in total 31,334 households of the three (03) unions namely Brammagachha, Chandaikona and Dhangara at Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district. The surveillance is conducted in every household at six (06) months interval and the information is collected on birth, death, marriage, migration and injury morbidity.
