Kelly Larson, Program Director, Bloomberg Philanthropies, USA; Dr. Olakunle Alonge, Assistant Scientist, Johns Hopkins International Injury Research Unit; Shirin Wadhwaniya, Project Coordinator, Johns Hopkins lnternational lnjury Research Unit; Prof. Dr. AKM Fazlur Rahman, Executive Director, CIPRB; Dr. Aminur Rahman, Technical Director, CIPRB; SoLiD team of CIPRB and icddr,b visited Manohordi to observe SoLiD project activities on 11th August 2014. They observed Anchal ma training, Anchal children early childhood education activities, Village Injury Prevention Committee (VIPC) meeting, cluster meeting, playpen use, Anchal compliance, surveillance and parents meeting. Kelly Larson highly praised the project activities. She expressed, “I wish to keep my child in CIPRB made wooden playpen if I were the mother of such aged child”. She discussed with VIPC members, parents, children, Anchal Ma’s and villagers about the project and its sustainability.
Under SoLiD project of CIPRB total 1519 VIPC meetings have been completed, 723 cluster meetings are conducted, 1748 Anchal Mas have been trained, 1592 Anchal are functioning, 9401 playpen are distributed till July 2014.
