Application is now open for One Day International training course on Emergency Management of Severe Burn (EMSB)

Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh (CIPRB) in collaboration with Interplast Australia & New Zealand and The Australia and New Zealand Burns Association (ANZBA) hosting a training program on the Emergency Management of Severe Burn (EMSB) for the doctors of Bangladesh since from December 2008. EMSB is an internationally recognized course in burn management has been operating in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Africa and many other countries for 15 years. EMSB is one-day course held in BCPS, Dhaka. Till date, over 500 Bangladeshi doctors and 48 nurses have been trained including doctors and nurses from abroad also participated.

Patients with severe burns have a ‘golden hour’ when optimal treatment and handling can mean the difference between life and death. EMSB training has been ensuring more patients in Bangladesh receive this optimal treatment and have the best chance of a making a full recovery

Application is invited from the eligible candidates in upcoming course

Date of course: Three courses will be held from 1st March to 3rd March 2017.

Course duration: One day

Course Content: Theory (lectures), Group discussions, Simulations (Practical) on emergency management of severe burn.  At the end of course there will be a MCQ examination and simulation.

Course Material: Course materials will provide to successful candidate who will be selected for the course. Material will send to the candidate 15 days before the course day.

Certification: Successful candidates in the course will receive International certification on EMSB from Australia & New Zealand and The Australia and New Zealand Burns Association (ANZBA).


  1. For Doctors:  Medical graduate with BMDC registration having experience in managing burn patients or related activities. Preference will give to potential candidates with experience.
  2. For Nurses: BSc nurses having registration and working experience to work in burn unit and/or working with burn patient.
